To some extent change is inevitable. For this reason, it is of the essence to ensure that we
embrace it in an effort to be able to fit in within the society. This is in relation to the fact that,
over the passage of time society has changed drastically in regard to human behavior. A couple
of key factors of this change are centered on how men and women have changed as a gender
over time. Where most men used to want to be gentlemen and most women devoted housewives,
now men are seldom seen as chivalrous or women loyal partners.
The American culture is a perfect picture of how the passage of time brings about
changes in society. These changes have been clearly documented in two famous TV programs of
different eras. The first one being "The Lost World" which was aired between 1999 and 2002,
and the second one is “Scandal” that was first aired in the year 2012.
The TV program, "The Lost world" exemplified a period when the American culture was
starting to embrace the changing role of women in society. This is so since it was cast at a time
when women and men had started shifting from a culture where women were supposed to be
devoted housewives while husbands were expected to be gentlemen. Characters in the TV
program are depicted to be embracing this changing role of women and men in society.
