Question description

Please use the upload file "Rhetorical Analysis" and the same article was used for the Rhetorical Analysis to write Rhetorical Analysis Revised.

As I read through the support, I wanted to see specific examples of how logic is expressed through the author's structure, reference, or language choices. To improve the supporting analysis in the next draft, focus each supporting paragraph around an example of a specific rhetorical choice that the author uses to appeal to readers' sense of logic.

1 Running head: RHETORICAL ANALYSIS Rhetorical Analysis Institution: Date: RHETORICAL ANALYSIS 2 In the article, Importance of Health Education in Students, the author, Elanora Brown uses different rhetorical choices to achieve the main purpose of the article and reach the target audience. The author of the article addresses the importance of health education to students by using her expertise in writing to persuade the audience. The recurring rhetorical choice that the author uses most is logos. Ideally, logos is a rhetorical choice or device in which an author seeks to persuade and convince the audience through the use of logic and reason while using examples to back up his/her statements. In this paper, the author uses logic in most of her work. The structure of the article is designed in a simple way that the author uses her expertise and reason in the field of health science to achieve the overarching purpose of the article. Additionally, the language that the author uses represents a well-thought reasons which are backed up with examples. For instance, the author uses a formal language that makes it easy to appeal to the audience and achieve the purpose of the article (Brown, 2018). Brown shows how health education benefits students not only by explaining but also citing a study in which students who completed health education performed better than those who did not. The rhetorical choice that the author uses is effective for the article’s main purpose. Ideally, the article main purpose is to inform individuals especially parents and teachers the importance of health education in students. As such, the choice which Brown uses which is the use of logic is effective because she expertly explores the concept and shows how a student gets to benefit from health education. The author does this through the use of examples. For instance, she asserts that health education makes students healthy and healthy students tend to perform well in school, have higher attendance rate and better grades (Brown, 2018). Apparently, it is clear that the use of reason with examples is effective in meeting the purpose of the article. RHETORICAL ANALYSIS 3 Furthermore, the choice is effective for the audience. For example, the author through the use of reason, she explains to her audience more reasons as to why health education is paramount. For example, she argues that health education is not only beneficial to students’ education alone but also their physical, emotional, mental as well as social health (Brown, 2018). Also, the choice is effective for the audience because it helps the author to explore different benefits which come from health education. To convince and persuade audience, an author needs to show why his/her topic is important and that is exactly what Brown does in her article by using reason and citing examples to convince the audience. In addition, rhetorical choice used is effective in the genre of the article. Ideally, this is an informative article in health science. As such, it is important for the author to use reason, logic, and examples so that the audience can feel convinced. As such, this choice perfectly fits the genre of the article because of the language that the author uses, a good and simple structure as well as simple words that makes it easy for the article’s contents to be understood. This type of article genre needs a simple language and structure so that the audience does not find it difficult to ready (Lewallen, Hunt, Potts‐Datema, Zaza & Giles, 2015). For example, the author uses subtopics and offers a guideline on what can be done to promote health education. The rhetorical choice analyzed above will be appropriate during my future undergraduate writing. This is because by use of logic and reason, it will be easy to convince the audience, achieve the main purpose of the work and fit the health science field which needs good use of reason and examples.
