The Neuroscience of Conflict
The concept of acknowledging people’s sacred values as the beginning of any

conflict resolution is the main point in the video and an aspect that I deeply resonate
with. Everyone has sacred values that they hold dearly and feel the obligation to
protect them. Feelings of exclusion in the society or any setting pose as a direct threat
to an individual’s sacred values and consequently the person responds with an
outrage. Thus, introducing inclusion of all individuals in governments and other
settings is an effective way of ending conflicts. I have personally experienced feelings
of exclusion especially in my high school and as identified in the video, this feeling is
very painful for anyone to handle. Hence, I also believe recognizing and respecting
other people’s values even though they differ from ours is the most effective way of
ending feelings of exclusion that are the primary causes of conflicts and violence.
