Boston First post to respond too: Key life events that have influenced Sara’s relationships One key life event that has influenced Sara’s relationships is t mentally and physically however after a while the families of an individual who loses a spouse ultimately return back to everyday life which may leave the griever to feel alone (Zast 2016). The death of her husband also has the potential to make her withdraw from others because of the social life changes that have occurred from he 2016). This theory also comes with some recommendations for how this theory could be put in place. One recommendation is shaping society to letting go 2016). Another recommendation is providing older individuals with the necessary resources they are seeking (Zastrow & Kirst-Ashman 2016). A final recommendation is to find ways to help older individuals maintain control of their lives (Zastrow & Kirst-Ashman 2016). In Sara’s case it mentions how Sara receives Medicare and Social Security benefits and a small pension. It also mentions how she attends a day Brocksen 2014). This theory can be applied to Sara’s case as successful aging because the resources that Sara needs are currently available and being extended S.-B. Brocksen S. (Eds.). (2014). Second post to respond too: Explain key life events that have influ she still feels alone. Sarah does goes to a day center but explains that she does not like it. Sarah reports that she loves shopping and enjoys her ca as well as activities in the community. The hoarding is also a key life event that results from losing her husband and is causing depression. It’s hard for her to let go of things that remind her of her husband and she may be collecting things that remind her of her husband rather then reaching out to her daughter or participating in activities that can help as Sara's social worker might apply a theory of successful aging to her case. The activity theory explains that the more physically and mentally active people are the more s psycholofical and intellectual fucntionns of older people. Productive activity is the key to aging well (Zastrow 2016). As a social worker I can apply this theory to Sarah’s case by encouraging her to continue seeing her psychologist regarding her depression. Also empowering her to contin but she is becoming a hoarder. Therefore I would create a treatment plan that helps her with the hoarding for instance a yard sale or donating some of the things to charity. This way she is being active physically and mentally while building a more healthy relationship with her daughter. References Plummer MD: Laureate International Universities Publishing. Tutor went the extra mile to help me with this essay. Citations were a bit shaky but I appreciated how well he handled APA styles and how ok he was to change them even though I didnt specify. Got a B+ which is believable and acceptable.
