1,050- to 1,750-word paper in which you
describe the elements of affirmative action as it applies to public sector and
private sector employers and how it interacts with Title VII requirements of
Equal Employment Opportunity. There is a tension between the two laws that must
be addressed and explained. Note this paper is NOT about affirmative action in
general, for example as it relates to education. Your paper must address in
detail, but is not limited to, the following:
Which employers are subject to affirmative
action plans and why?
What do the plans require employers to
do? How are plans developed? Note: this requires you to read and
demonstrate an understanding of the process explanation in the textbook. You should explain the quantitative and
qualitative aspects of the process.
What is the OFCCP?
What happens if employers do not meet the
goals of the affirmative action plan?
Include in your paper proper citations for each of
these laws, including the week’s reading.
