Organizational Behavior Concepts
According to Uhl-Bien, Schermerhorn, and Osborn (2014), organizational behavior is the
study of human behavior in organizations. With individuals working in organization coming
from different backgrounds, organizational behavior is the academic study geared towards
understanding how individuals, teams, interpersonal processes, and organizational dynamics
affect the operation of the organization. In an ever-changing world, the study of organizational
behavior is important in ensuring that one develop skills which ensures a successful career. By
understanding how individual and team interactions affect the overall organization, the study of
organization behavior helps one to become more collaborative and to become a team player

to develop and achieve competitive advantage, Phillips, Dumas, and Rothbard (2018) note that it
is essential for such a firm to accommodate cultural diversity and create an environment that is
open and flexible. Enhancing cultural diversity creates the conditions in which every employee
has the opportunity to express all the relevant aspects of herself or himself. This entails
eliminating the different forms of discrimination such as sexual harassment, intimidation,
exclusion, and incivility. Over the years, cultural diversity within the organization has largely
been studied from two points of view; the moral-ethical perspective which focuses on social
