Change is regarded to be the only constant thing in life. In most cases, people do not take change
lightly especially when it is imposed on them without their input (Cameron, E., & Green, M. 2015).
Most people respond to change differently, and various reasons as to why change is resisted include
the following: •

The fear of being different- Human beings are creatures of habit and most people like to
stick to routines and favorite ways of doing things. In most cases, people want to see and
understand something before they embark on it. To make it easier for adaptation the best
way to go is to communicate effectively and set examples or demonstrate the new features
that are to be implemented.



Feeling overwhelmed or stressed- When people are in an environment that makes them
feel tired or stressed change can be highly resisted. This is because they feel irritable, angry
and cranky. Within organizations whereby there is a lot of work, and people feel
