The Walt Disney Company

The Walt Disney Company
The Walt Disney Company is a household name in the business world. Its mention,
for many people, denotes the large animation brand as it is widely known for this. However,
the organization has stupendously grown over the years and expanded to media, cruise lines
industry, and it also offers recreational facilities. It has also expanded its reach by
establishing sub-divisions that function as single entities but under one organization. Some of
its most popular sub-divisions are ABC, Pixar, and Touchstone Pictures. This paper looks at
the external and internal issues affecting Walt Disney, its competition, predicted future, and

has thus faced bitter disputes with trade unions in courts.
Another major external issue affecting Walt Disney is its competition (Brown, 2018).
Following its wide products and services portfolio, the firm has numerous competitors from
different industries. Following its ownership of the ABC and ESPN television networks, it
faces stiff competition from other cable tv brands such as NBC, Sky, and CBS. In the film
production and entertainment industry, major competition comes from other industry giants

such as Comcast and Time Warner. In the cruise line business, Carnival Cruise Lines poses a
significant challenge to their market share.
Following its slow but steady embracing of diversification, the Walt Disney Company
is headed to becoming one of the most prominent organizations, not just in the media and
entertainment industry, but worldwide. Films have become such a lucrative business with
streaming sites such as Netflix making vast amounts of profits annually. Similarly, the media
business is also demonstrating a lot of potential in growth. With proper use of newer
technologies and the embracing trends, The Walt Disney Company will undoubtedly become
one of the world l...
