Question Description

  1. Deetz’s theory reminds us how big multinational corporations are the dominant force in our society. According to Deetz, these corporations are more powerful than the church, state, or family in their ability to influence the lives of individuals. Deetz says that corporations control and colonize modern life in ways that no government or public body since the feudal era ever thought possible. Deetz also criticizes corporate strategic control and claims that most corporate successes are the result of factors beyond managerial control. Do you agree with Deetz after reading Ch. 21? Please analyze the critical perspective and provide examples to support or disprove the theory.
