Running Head: TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADER
The former ruler of Saudi Arabia King Adullaah can be regarded as an icon of leadership,
path breaking policies and reforms. The king can be mentioned to as transformational leader who
has ascended against all odds and barriers. When it comes to Islamic model of leadership,
behaving morally towards all humans despite their religion, background is vital. The leader must
act as a trustee, be humble and should always strive for self-improvement. This essay will show
that the King embodies these leadership characters together with other Islamic principles.
Transformational leadership was defined by Burns in 1978. According to this man,
transformation leadership was observed when the leaders encouraged their followers with the
aim of boosting up their moral values, beliefs, motivation, perceptions and coalition in regards to
the objectives of the organization. Transformation leadership was divided into four components
which include; charismatic role of modeling, individualized consideration, intellectual
stimulation and inspirational motivation.
