1) DISCUSSION QUESTION
Use the Internet to search for an example of an enthymeme in the media (e.g., Internet, television, radio, newspapers, etc.).
You may find an op-ed, political piece, advertising, et cetera.
Identify the implied premise in the enthymeme.
Why did you choose this example?
2) PEER REVIEW (Keyanah )
The enthymeme that I have found and decided to use for this assignment is a funny subway commercial. There is not much dialogue but the visual is quite humorous. I chose this example because I recently saw this ad on my Instagram feed. The video had many views and funny comments. What I did not know was that it considered an enthymeme.
The implied premise:
Even Ronald Mcdonald get tired of eating burgers, so he orders subway.
3) PEER REVIEW (Shahidah)
The example i choose is when rapper Kanye West stated that, " 400 years of slavery was a choice". This statement is definitely defined as enthymeme. This was Kanye's personal opinion and very non- factual.

DISCUSSION QUESTION AND PEER REVIEWS
An excellent example of an enthymeme in the media is the 2012 Super Bowl Volkswagen
Passat advertisement featuring a kid in a Darth Vader costume. The kid wonders all over the
house and tries to apply "The Force" to activate the washing machine, cook lunch, summon the
dog, and so on. When the dad arrives home in a Passat, the kid tries to turn it back on using the
force and once the dad sees what he's trying to do he uses the remote starter to start the car just as
the kid launches the force in the car's direction (Sanburn, 2016). The implied premise in the
advertisement is that car manufacturers are capable of simultaneously producing amazing and
loveable ads and superior and efficient cars.
I chose this example because it perfectly combines the popularity of Star Wars, touching
moments between a father and his son and childhood nostalgia. It also depicts humor courtesy of
a six-year-old dressed in a movie villain costume and a narrative arc that went methodically from
conflict to resolution. The assistance from the dad who turned on the car was also a clever way
for the manufacturer to flaunt the new Passat remote starter.
