The Gettysburg National Military Park was created to preserve the topography, culture,
and landscape that was significant to the outcome of the bloodiest battle in the civil war. Natural
processes, however, obscure some of the features and hence the need for maintenance. As it turns
out some of the initial features and territories have been lost for instance some of the farms have
become forests while some of the lands are still to be reclaimed. With these losses, the authentic
battleground understanding is more difficult. However, efforts have been ongoing since the year
