The Delta Pacific case (DPC) study provides insight to challenges that organizations are
faced with when changing their business model. DPC has been a successful company since the
1990’s. However, after the globalization process, the firm could not bear with intense
competition of foreign companies and began losing the market (Hannay, 2013). Initially, the
organization used a traditional model where customer relationships were developed through the
services and products delivered by the company. The company sought to change the business
itself rather than looking for opportunities to improve the way the corporation is working. A
change in the model required DPC to build customer relationships using the knowledge and
expertise of its employees.
