Anemia is a condition which develops when the body fails to produce or manufacture adequate
red blood cells or hemoglobin. Anemia has been recognized as a blood condition which affects
several people in the United States. The disease affects infants, women and other people who might
be suffering from chronic infection. There are several causes of anemia in individuals. The infants
could inherit anemia during birth; hence it could be categorized as a hereditary defect. Women
may undergo anemic condition when they fail to replace the blood loss during menstruation and
bleeding during birth. During delivery, women lose a lot of blood, so when they fail to replace the
lost irons, they become susceptible to anemia. Poor diet and medical condition for those in the
poor environment may also suffer from anemia (Cappellini, M. D., & Motta, I. 2015, October).
Anemia causes a negative impact on people’s health. Anemia can lead to secondary infections
such as heart diseases which occurs when the heart fails to pump enough blood to ensure adequate
provision of oxygen. Many people who suffer from anemia, causes a lot of pressure to the heart to
pump enough oxygen hence resulting in heart diseases. Another effect of anemia on people’s
