HOW DIALYSIS WORKS TO RESOLVE KIDNEY PROBLEMS
Dialysis also known as hemodialysis is a way of blood purification in a person whose kidneys are not
functioning well. Its aim is to reduce levels of waste products like creatinine, urea and free water from
the blood when the kidneys are in a state of failure. It is a form of renal replacement therapies, the
other two being renal transplantation and peritoneal dialysis.
Being a form of dialysis, it involves diffusion of solutes across a semi-permeable membrane.
