Painting refers to expressions of emotions and ideas with the aim of creating aesthetic
qualities or to represent a particular phenomenon or event (Speyer & Courtney 4). Painting is
done in a two dimensions visual language. Art is a means of communication whose elements are
shapes, lines, colors, tones, and textures. The painting elements are combined to give a natural as
well as a supernatural phenomenon, to bring a specific theme or to create a visual relationship.
Europe paintings bear peculiar importance in the natural history.
The first European paintings are probably the Minoan. Minoan is a decorative highly
developed frescoes from Crete, and they show Priests and Priestesses, bull dancing, dolphins
swimming landscape and animals. The art of painting is ancient and was used to depict everyday
life. The picture for example after the fall of Rome was a reaction to realism. Although Christian
art was there in the classical tradition, Medieval art was developed to teach in a clear,
unambiguous image and uncomplicated by perspective. The paintings were almost solely
