RE: The Internal Environment
In this memo, we talk about the internal environment of the Emergency Veterinary Clinic.
We divide this memo into four parts. Firstly, we talk about three key issues in the internal
environment. Secondly, we talk about the organizations key strategic competencies. Thirdly,
we explain what the internal factor analysis means in the context of the organization. Finally,
we talk about business level strategy, competitive rivalry and corporate level strategy.
There are three key factors in the internal environment of the Emergency Veterinary Clinic.
They are unique resources, capabilities, and competencies. First, for the unique resources
factor, the Emergency Veterinary Clinic is dedicated to emergency and after-hour critical
care. “The Emergency Veterinary Clinic is open weeknights, weekends, and holidays to treat
any illness or trauma that your pet may experience when your veterinarian may not be
available” (Emergency Veterinary Clinic of SW Missouri, 2018). Second, for the capabilities
factor, the Emergency Veterinary Clinic provides kinds of services right now, like
Anesthesia, Diagnostic Procedures, Critical Care Monitoring, and Endoscopy (Emergency
Veterinary Clinic of SW Missouri, 2018). Maybe they will provide acupuncture service in the
future. For competencies factor, because it is open weeknights, weekends and holidays while
your veterinarian may not be available, which means the Emergency Veterinary Clinic are
not competing for clients right now. It makes this a win-win for people.
