UNPROFESSIONAL CONDUCT CASE
In every organization, there is a code of conduct which every individual should follow.
Work ethics are principles which are articulated in the organization memoranda to ensure that
there is a good relationship in the working environment. Individuals who don't follow the
principles of ethics face penalties from various disciplinary committees. Learning of ethics is
essential for students since it equips them with the best knowledge on how to handle different
situations in the workplace. Ethical values are not the same and they differ among different
industries (Fortin et al, 2016). However, each company is expected to ensure that the following
principles are incorporated. Respect, trustworthiness, caring, and responsibility.
With respect to the assignment, the focus will be on the case study on unprofessional
conduct. The case study is based on an incident which happened to Mrs petit who was a teacher
in an elementary school. The teacher in one of the cases was found to engage in bad behavior
which involved sexuality. The incident occurred in one of the parties where she was caught by
surveillance engaging in immoral behavior. The case damaged her reputation and eventually led
to her being fired. The argument was that she could not be let to continue interacting with
students since she will later start affecting their behavior in a negative manner. However, her
defense argued that the behavior was not conducted publicly (Shaw, 1998). She was in a private
place and if her privacy had not been invaded that incident would not have created attention.
