In a drug investigation, there are different methods that the police use to get
information. Firstly, it is by physical observation. In this case, some of the investigations
require good old observation to nab those who are trafficking drugs (Giurea, 2013). The law
enforcement will monitor the movement of the suspect and discover his or her tracks and the
associates. In many cases, making such observation can help fill some blank spaces in the
evidence that has been gathered. Secondly, it is monitoring the activities of the criminals in
the online space. Many of the drugs suspects will utilize the deep web to sell their products
without getting caught. In this case, the suspect will probably hide the identity but there some
cases they get sloppy, in that instance, the police can apprehend them or gather valuable
evidence. Thirdly, it is through data mining. This will involve gathering different IP
addresses and the posts that have been made online and examining them for any evidence that
could be used on the criminal in the court of law. Fourthly, it is by following the money. This
is in the instance where the criminal has beat the conventional methods of gathering
