Introduction
According to Anderson 2014, single parenting is a state where one parent assumes the full
responsibility of taking care of his/her children without the help o the other parent. Single
parenting results to adverse effects in the society. Whereas some parents prefer single parenting,
many are those who suffer immensely in taking care of the children. Raising children is a
collective responsibility that should be assumed by both parents to ensure the children get the
best upbringing and support o both parents. There are however various reasons that could lead to
single parenting. According to Kleist 1999, single parenting may be as a result of the death of
one parent where the other parent is left with the full burden o raising the children. Kleist further
states that it could result from neglected responsibility or quarrels that could lead to a divorce
thus leaving one parent with the entire burden of raising the children.
With the increase in single parented families and dual income families, an emphasis has been
created to offer services that our convenience. This is especially vital for the for the general wellbeing of the entire society.

Impacts of Single Parenting to the Society

With the increase in technology and women empowerment, many parents now prefer to raise
their children single-handedly without the help of the other parent. There are however various
reasons that could result in single parenting;
1. Economic Stability and Independence
According to Aderson 2014, women in society have been empowered, and they have assumed
financial stability. Unlike in the past, where women depended on men to provide for them, today
women can afford their basic needs and that o their children. Some even prefer test tube babies
where the man is not required. Whereas this is not advocated for b the religious books and even
the society at large, some women still perceive it as the best option of giving their children the
best upbringing.
2. Divorce
Divorce proceedings are among the most common cases you would find in any civil court. The
