Introduction
The autism spectrum is a congenital disorder which affects the children and makes
them unable to communicate effectively with the others. Most importantly, the children who
have autism spectrum have a challenge in learning and environmental adaptation (Brunsdon
et al., 2015). The children who are diagnosed with autism require a special attention since
they have a cognitive impairment related to the severe damage to their brains which limits
their use of the senses and even learning from the real concepts by the use of language or
abstract concepts. Children with autism are prone to danger especially disasters since they are
unable to access the real-life situations and effectively communicate (Hahamy, Behrmann &
Malach, 2015). Most of the children often contribute a greater percentage of the children who
succumb to the dangers of disasters. The main objective of this research is to look at the
possible ways of preventing the children with autism from the effects of disasters which they
are at a risk of coming across.
Disaster preparations for children with autism
Children with autism are at a greater risk of being victims of disasters hence there is a
need to prepare them through special schooling or programme to ensure that they can avoid
disasters at all costs (Kalb et al., 2017). The main challenges which affect children with
autism are impaired cognitive development which leads to their insufficient communication
and interaction. A good programme for initiating the safety of the children must address the
challenges which the children face and examine the potential dangers which may pose a
threat or risk to their lives.
In society, most children have been neglected...
