Discussion 1- Employment Tests, Hiring and Promotion Decisions
The two employment tests that to consider are drug tests and medical examinations. If the
organization does not properly use this test during the hiring process, the testing can be regarded
as illegal (Stein, 2018). When an organization considers a person to be taking drugs especially
when the drugs are supposed to cover his disability is unlawful. It can be unlawful for an
employer to declare a person who does not use the drug as a drug addict because they failed a
drug test, the best option is to have a confirmation test. A medical examination can be illegal if
the organization discloses the medical results to other individuals other than the doctor and the
job applicant. The purpose of the bona Fide occupational Qualification is to ensure that some
employee attributes are considered when deciding to hire or retain them. Some examples of
occupations where the discriminatory requirement is legal are security personnel and pilots,
where these occupations require physically fit individuals who are not too old.
Discussion 2- affirmative action and Harassment
The intended fairness of affirmative action is still relevant in the 21st Century. Currently,
minorities or people from a poor background are not given the same career opportunities even if
they have the qualifications for that profession. Women have been discriminated and not offered
some jobs because of gender. Affirmative action dictates that there should be an equal ground for
all and also it is against discrimination in employment (Oppenheimer, 2016). Affirmative action
implementation is supposed to eliminate barriers that currently exist during employment.
Cyber harassment is a form of bullying with the use of electronic means, due to the use of
the internet by many workers, the increase of cyber-bullying is evident. This harassment can be
in the form of embarrassment, spreading rumors, abusive messages and many more. This
harassment can also occur through social media which is widely used. Another kind of bullying
is same-sex harassment where sexual harassment can occur between people of the same sex. This
kind of harassment can cause poor performance at work due to the embarrassment they go
