Asperger's Syndrome

Abstract
This paper seeks to explain what Asperger’s syndrome is and how it affects those who
suffer from it. The paper will give indications why those who suffer from the condition are
classified under the DSM-5 conditions associated with autism. Based on the supportive
characteristics, the paper will show how one can identify a child or a person experiencing the
condition, and how they are trained to live with such a condition. There being a case of harmful
behavior, the person becomes trained and assisted to live their normal life without any harm
coming to them which may be due to an imbalance in their emotional control, which is not
normal for Aspergains (people who suffer from Asperger's syndrome). In the end, the conclusion
will give a clear understanding of various ways a person or those who are taking care of the c
patient should be patient as a way of ensuring proper development which in such case takes time
since it is delayed under Asperger’s syndrome.

a) Introduction
Asperger syndrome or Asperger's is a disorder experienced in terms of developmental
difficulties in the stages of childhood in terms of restricted behavioural interests and patterns. It
is categorized as a slighter form of autism spectrum disorder (Castelli et al 2002). However, it
differs from other forms of ASD based on relative intelligence and language of the child
experiencing it. This categorization became documented under the Diagnostic and Statistical
Manual of Mental Disorders 5 (DSM-5). Physical clumsiness and abnormal use of language are
some of the common symptoms experienced. Signs normally begin to show up when a child is
two years old and afterwards, they last the entire life of a person. The cause of Asperger’s
syndrome remains unknown but it is associated partly with underlying genetics. Equally,
environmental factors such as how the child is brought up or what they experience are thought to
influence the development of this syndrome. Globally, one in every a hundred and sixty children
experiences Asperger’s syndrome (Powell, 2017). Even though the syndrome persists throughout
life, some people have been able to live independently. However, there are those who experience
severe disabilities and end up requiring lifelong support and care. Interventions through
evidence-based psycho-sociology, such as parental skill training sections and behavioral
treatment, assist in reducing difficulties in social behavior and communication. Such
interventions facilitate a positive impact on the quality of life and well-being for persons with
Asperger’s syndrome and their caregivers. Whe...
