human resource managers/ management in various companies in the effective execution of their
functions. Companies, for example, EMC, Entelo, Facebook and Google have employed the use
of social media in the recruitment process, measuring their performance, promotions as well as
laying off employees. Roles of HRM are vast, and it does not just involve planning employee’s
benefits it additionally entails the HRM abiding by laws which relate to privacy and
discrimination. However, social media plays the role of screening and hire candidates in the
organizations, training as well as identifying and developing new talents. It is also responsible
for announcing corporate changes that an organization make. Therefore, it is evident that social
media has a significant impact on organizations. It is necessary that organizations embrace the
use of social media since it enhances transparency, engagement, and collaboration.
