I would apply the Batles’ Lifespan perspective of development theory in my social work
practice because it studies the development of an individual from their conception to old age
(Zastrow & Kirst-Ashman, 2016). As stated in the post, the theory is lifelong, contextual,
multidimensional, and multi-directional and for this reasons it suitable for applying in various
situations in my social work practice. Besides, I agree with most of the underlying principles, in
theory, for instance, the theory recognizes that individuals do not stop developing once they
reach the adulthood stage unlike what most theirs suggest because development is a lifelong
