Mary Shelley’s novel “Frankenstein” which features a scientist who creates a monster
going by the same name is often criticized for portraying the scientist as a god. Critics also raise
concern over the book’s perceived depiction of a world without women and the fear of progress
gone too far. In “Victor Frankenstein,” the 2015 movie adaptation of the book which was
produced by John Davis and directed by Paul McGuigan, some of these issues are addressed.
