Influence of the Mexican Revolution on Frida Kahlo’s art
The Mexican Revolution had a huge impact not just on Frida's art but in her entire life as
a whole. Frida lived through the Revolution and had a first-hand experience of many aspects of
the Revolution. For example, she and her mother welcomed and took care of people who were
wounded during the Revolution. As she grew up, the Revolution became more and more
apparent in her artistic mind. Thus, art was the only way she could actually share what she
experienced and felt concerning the Revolution.
Influence of the accident on Frida’s future
The accident left Frida in immense pain. She suffered years of pain and fatigue as a result
of the injuries she sustained. For example, she broke her spinal column and had to go through
over 30 surgeries to fix it alongside other injuries on the collarbone, pelvis, and shoulders.
Thanks to the accident, too, her reproductive organs were severely damaged so much so that she
had to endure multiple miscarriages...
