environment and employee benefits. This dissertation explores the design and implementation of
flexible work arrangements, how work processes and job responsibilities are affected, and the
impact workplace culture and structures have on flexibility. The authors seek to offer clarity
about what this term means and how it can be applied in many workplace environments. The
article defines workplace flexibility as the ability of workers to make choices that influence the
