Running Head: APPLE COMPANY 1 Research Proposal on Apple Company Kumyiah McDonald Southern New Hampshire University 10/10/18 APPLE COMPANY 2 Research Proposal on Apple Company Based on this paper, the main content will basically explore or illustrate on Apple Company which is actually a well-known or recognized worldwide. In this case, the document will explore corporate overview such as leadership, market position among others. It will also detail financial performance, business segments, geographic segmentation as well as subsidiary structure in details. Additionally, based on the apple company, the document will illustrate current strategic initiatives, imperative non-beneficial events, domestic or foreign business instantaneous, brief or short key competitors’ overview as well as the reason behind my interest regarding the MNE. Apple is a well-known enterprise in the world of technology which has played a key role in the same industry through innovation. It is said and also believed to have one of the best products such as computers and phones and which they are going at prices that are quite high compared to those of their competitors (Gómez, & Martens, 2015). The enterprise whose history traces it to the late 1930s when the late Steve Jobs started it has over the years grown to become not only the best-selling brand in America but the world over as at now. The brand which had as little as five hundred dollars has over the years been able to climb to over seventy-two billion dollars. The enterprise again has been able to develop and has widened her scope dealing with items such as phones, computers such as iMac, laptops, and Ipads among others. All these have been in good quality and have been able to attract a great percentage of the market share regardless of the products being higher priced as compared to those of their competitors (Zhang, APPLE COMPANY 3 2017), additionally, through ensuring that the durability of the products and their conformance to the qualities at hand has been a plus for the enterprise. Recently, the company has made a lot of efforts to ensure that there is substantial growth and ensured that they have met the needs of the market (Cardoso, 2017). For instance, the company has brought about the refurbishing of their products and selling the same to clients or customers who might not be able to buy the product brand new. Through this, a great segment of the market share has been drawn to the products of the company and this is what has ensured that there is increased profitability if the same thus making the company to undergo better financial performances over the recent past. As there would be in any other business venture, this one has had its own fair share of challenges but which have not knocked it down. One of the challenges that there has been in the market is that of dealing with the presence of counterfeit products in the market (Farahani, Rezapour, Drezner, & Fallah, 2014). This is what has ended up luring potential clients of the enterprise into buying products that are cheaper and which are looking more like the apple products. Again there has been the challenge whereby the government had a demand to have the apple products conform to security demands whereby they were supposed to ensure that they are able to let the government access the phone activities for the iPhone users so as for curb the terrorist activities. The company has also enjoyed undisputed influence both in the domestic and international market as it is known to have the best services in reference to the gadgets that they produce thus this has had at an upper hand whereby they do not have to struggle so much for the market share (Zavyalova, Pfarrer, Reger, & Hubbard, 2016). One of the competitors who have measured to be a worthy competitor of the apple company is the Samsung Company which has APPLE COMPANY 4 had an overwhelming influence on the same market and has in a way tried to challenge the apple company. The reason as to why I had interest in the multinational enterprise is due to the fact that this happens to be the best the company in terms of production of gadgets such as phones and computer thus the reason as to why I chose to research on it. Running Head: SUMMARY AND BIBLIOGRAPHY Summary and Bibliography Southern New Hampshire University 11/22/18 1 SUMMARY AND BIBLIOGRAPHY 2 SUMMARY Apple Company which was started by the late Steve Jobs can be traced from as back as the 1930s in America, where it has grown from five hundred dollars net worth to over seventytwo billion currently to be not only the best seller in America but also the world as a whole. Today, the Company is recognized in the world of technology and has played significant roles by the promotion of innovations in products such as phones and computers. The company faces challenges in this venture and line of operation starting from the competition by their close rivals the Samsung Company and other issues such as counterfeit products that are not being differentiated from the original ones. Information shows that this has been luring many of the Company’s potential customers into buying cheaper but not the genuine Apple Inc, products. My current research revolves around critical issues on the leadership, management, basic decision-making tactics, market segmentation and the key competitors the Apple Company faces will be documented in this research. The Company has recently been able to improve the quality of laptops and iMac and thus increases the attraction of new customers which has expanded the customer base of the Company. The research will utilize information on the efforts the Apple put to ensure that they have achieved a fair growth in the market and customer needs in the effort of achieving globalization by the Apple Company. The research also aims at highlighting the issues that are associated with market disputes; the disputed markets are both local and international. This research paper also highlights various recommendations that the Apple Company should apply in the course of getting a better market share than that of their rivals.
