Modern science has played a pivotal role in the current innovations that are evident in
every aspect of life. Stem courses in the universities and colleges have contributed to advanced
sciences. Additionally, women have not been left behind in the currently recorded innovations in
the field of medicine, biochemistry, physics, and genetics. Most of the discoveries in this context
are achieved by determined scientist women.
Radioactivity and x-ray
In the 20th century, much advancement was made as far as modern science is concerned.
For instance in radiation, Marie Curie is regarded as the mother of modern sciences through her
contribution in radioactivity through discovering radium and polonium which have aided in
fighting cancer. On the other hand, Lise Meitner a great physicist contributed to the betterment
of energy by the study of nuclear fission which led to her discovery of radiationless transition
