Most people are aware of the disclaimer they hear when conversing with the customer
service department to inform them that the call is being recorded for quality confirmations.
Customers might not have an issue with recording the calls since it keeps a record of all the
complaints, but it feels like privacy invasion for the employees. Privacy issues are very important
in all organizations, especially when dealing with crucial information that could harm the
employees deeper. Also, privacy policies are always advocated, especially when dealing with the
effective use of technology in the workplace. It means that it is essential to develop means to
track such services. For instance, most experts recommend that the notification should be
detailed, indicate the monitoring strategies used, how often monitoring will happen, and the
employer's objective in the whole monitoring process.
According to the court's interpretation of the rule, employees' expectations of privacy are
avoided. Employees who use work computers to send or store personal information should
expect privacy for personal information, but only to a reasonable extent. This reasonable extent
is defined as the situation when employees use work computers when they are not expected to
work and handle assignments. Employers should know that they are some states that require
them to inform the employees they are monitoring and tracking their use of the internet and
emails and have written consent (Jahagirdar et al.,2020). Also, employers are allowed to track
and control employees' business calls, but there are limitations even when the employee uses a
company phone.
The fourth amendment aligns majorly with the government actions and not the private
employers’ actions. Due to this, the government workers could have a more extraordinary claim
to immunity from surveillance and electronic tracking than employees in the private sector, but
