Southwest Airlines Case Study Question and Answers
Would you be happy in such an organizational environment?
I would be happy in an organizational environment such as Southwest airlines because
the teamwork promoted as a business culture offers employees the rapport to relate with the
working environment and effectively offer their services to the airline passengers. Focusing on
employees having the required attitude allows the company to build an environment where
people love their job and translate satisfactory services to the customers (Brewer & Westerman,
2017). Employees can learn from each other since they embrace the spirit of teamwork to
complete the assigned airline tasks. Therefore, I would be happy to work in an environment
where the attitude of the employees is defined.
How much structure do you need to be comfortable?
There is no necessity for many structures at work to be comfortable. Working as a team
enables employees to have the ability to interact with one another cordially without the
leadership gaps that exist in organizations that have comprehensive management structures
(Brewer & Westerman, 2017). Few organizational structures allow the employees to collectively
perform the general duties at the firm, which improves consultation and effective service
delivery to the customers since they are offered a cultured attitude of appreciating human
relationships (Johnson & Szamosi, 2018). Therefore, having many structures in an organization
creates a gap between the management and other employees who would appreciate directly
interacting with the management to offer their immediate feedback and seek an audience for
consultations.
