Hello Class,
As derived from the theories of leadership, it is evident that there has been a massive
transition of leadership qualities and involvement in the leadership roles from the 1800s to the
current generation. The era of bridge between the leaders and their subjects is long gone and the
current leaders tend to be more involved and collaborative in their day-to-day activities. In a
corporation or business governance, the margin between the employer and the employees is not
very huge which makes it unreasonable for employees to comment negatively about their
employers on social media.
In the evolution of next-generation leaders, a modern leader is described as a person who
is a collaborator, which insinuates that they tend to incorporate their subjects into workplace
matters by clarifying the problem and jointly finding the solution to the problem. The modern
employer is a transparent communicator, which tends to explain the openness between the
employer and the employee hence it makes it unprofessional to express their differences through
the social media platform.
It is very unethical for employees to express themselves negatively about their employers
or workplaces on social media because problems in organizations act as a learning opportunity
rather than occasions for blame. This is to stress the fact that the person closest to the problem is
not always the individual to blame because it could be a symptom or a signal of a system-wide
problem. The negative situation is turned into a positive occurrence by using the failure to learn
and improve the system.
