PERSUADING EMPLOYEES 2
After reviewing the three articles, I would use the article titled Five Reasons Employee
Wellness Is worth the Investment by Black to persuade the employees that the workplace
wellness program is necessary (Black, 2017). The article explains the effectiveness of workplace
wellness programs in promoting the welfare of the employees. It is important to note that
currently, as the CEO of any organization, the introduction of the employee's wellness program
is meant to address the changes in the business world. One of these changes is the increase in the
cost of the employees’ health insurance hence threatening the financial stability of the company.
Therefore, the article I have chosen goes beyond the use of the financial justifications of the
employee’s wellness program.
Again, the article adheres to the three appeals that is the Ethos, Pathos and Logos. When
it comes to ethos, the article contains credible information as it is authored by the office of
disease prevention and health promotion (ODPHP). This is a reputable organization that gives
reliable information on the importance of the health and fitness of employees globally. The
information in the article is able to convince the employees' on how to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
When it comes to ethos, the article is emotionally appealing, especially in its explanation of how
the wellness program helps to cut the health cost for the employees, promotes their physical
health, and inspires health change. The article uses an emotionally appealing explanation to
explain these points. On logos, the article furthers brings out the logic of the employees' wellness
program. The reasons brought out in the article among them is the physically healthy, inspiration
of the behavior change, and reduction in the health cost of employees that are essential in
convincing the employees to support. Therefore, the article is credible, it is appealing to the
emotions of the employees and it logically explains the benefits of the employee wellness
program.
