Hypothesis Testing
The following is the set of null and alternative hypothesis corresponding to the females and
males heart rates:
Null Hypothesis: There exist no significant differences between male and female heart rates
before and after exercise.
Alternative Hypothesis: There exists a significant difference between male and female heart rates
before and after exercise.
The results indicate that the differences in the male and female exercise heart rates differ
significantly based on the specific confidence interval limits whereby the threshold is between
the mean heart rates for the corresponding measures that are specific to gender. Therefore, the
null hypothesis is rejected based on the fact that the mean values of the heart rates fall below and
above the mean, and it is concluded that there exist significant differences between the
considerable difference between the male and female heart rates before and after exercise. Based
on the confidence interval limits, there exists a significant difference between the resting heart
rate of males and females.
