Physical Topologies
Mesh
To propagate data through the networks all nodes are acting as receivers, transmitter and also as
relays for propogation of data through the networks. There is a proper arrangement of nodes in such a
way tha all nodes are accessible to one another. By hoping from one path to another there is the message
transferring from one person to another.
Advantages. The advantages of mesh network are as follows/
1) Fault tolerance power is high that is if one of the nodes is down then there is this self healing
capacity of the mesh by which they intrude their path to find the node on their way and reach to a
particular node.
2) Using the shortest path protocol the data transfer is done.
3) Diversion to other router is done in case of a congestion.
Disadvantages. The disadvantages of the mesh network are as follows.
1) Cost is quite high.
2) The design and implemention is ardous.
3) There can be wastage of the nodes as all nodes may not be used for data transfer as the mesh
follows shortest path first, there can also be wastage of the resources.
Bus
There is a central backbone line to which all the devices are connected. All these share bandwidth of a
single line. Message broadcast is done by the device wanting to share resources over the communication
line.the broadcast message is seen by every device but they o not intend to disseminate over it.
Advantages. The advantages are as follows.
