Every organization must desire to maximize on its profits using the least amount of
resources. It is the responsibility of the leadership organization to implement strategies that
will maximize profits. One of the most common causes of low profits or even losses in
organizations is the misuse of resources. Organizations must devise efficient resource
utilization strategies that will lower costs and in return maximize profits (Wager et al., 2017).
In the present case, Dynamic Health System desires to create an investment (ROI) strategy
for the acquisition of a strategic HIT solution with a consideration of some cost saving and
revenue generating opportunities that will not only improve its financial position but also
enhance its competitiveness in the market.
In the implementation of the EPIC technology, Dynamic needs to make a one-time
purchase of the necessary hardware and software. It will be useful to the organization if it
trains its IT staff on the use of the technology. One of the most significant costs associated
with this technology is the cost of maintenance (Reddy & Aggerwal, 2015). Rather than
having the suppliers of the technology coming to the premises to offer maintenance services
monthly, a venture that may be very expensive, it would be less costly if the organization
trains its employees to carry out the maintenance services.
The traditional service for fee source of revenue may not be sustainable for modern
hospital organizations. This means healthcare organizations need to devise additional ways of
enhancing their revenues. Dynamic can make use of HIT Solutions generate new revenue.
One way in which Dynamic may generate new revenues with the HIT Solutions is to provide
consulting and hosting services to other healthcare organizations that may be interested in
Epic electronic health records. Since many healthcare organizations may be interested in the
EPIC technology but may be hindered by the huge implementation costs, Dynamic may fill
