Introduction
The world has been experiencing massive developments over the years. First, there was a
massive industrial revolution that saw opportunities increase for people, with many having
sources of revenue. Secondly, the world started becoming a small community with the ever-
increasing globalization. Unfortunately, these benefits have also come with severe drawbacks.
Before the revolution, the world population was lower than 800 million. However, with the
advancements and revolutions, the population has been growing rapidly with the number hitting
over 7.5 billion people presently (Simon, 2019). The combination of industrial growth, global
warming, and population growth has resulted massive climate change, and this is becoming a
menace at an alarming rate. With the dire effects that climate change has already had and the
constant threats that it continues to pose, it is a high time that the world started going green.
However, this again presents another challenge regarding ethical considerations. This paper,
therefore, aims to prove that going green is the most ethical campaign to engage in to save the
world from the severe effects of climate change.
Ethical Theoretical Discussion
Many ethical theories have been coined that can help address the climate change issues
that the world is currently experiencing. The first ethical theory that applies in this case is the
utilitarian theory. According to this theory, morality is determined by the consequences of
actions, whether it is a person, group, community, or organization performing that action (Mill,
2016). In this case, a person, group, community, or organization will only be considered to be
ethical if their actions result in positive impacts. Also, it means that even when the intentions for
