Question one.
The response by Sony Pictures Entertainment was appropriate because it acted as a
precautionary measure. This is because they didn't know what the hackers, in this case, the
Korean government would be able to do with the information they gained access to both the
nation and the organization as well. The decision to cancel the release date to the movie
named The Interview was well-informed, for it made sure the hackers didn't go ahead with
their threat of bombing the theatre that was to air the movie. This made sure that the
American citizens were safe rather than a company standing against the hackers without
having full information about whether they would carry forward with the attacks.
Question two.
Sony, as a company, should have taken the data seriously in has and encrypted it to make
it not accessible to the hackers no matter how good they are. With the increasing growth on
the Internet, many techniques can be applied to ensure the safety of data. There are premium
encryption systems that are there that are impossible to penetrate. Such systems are the ones
that should have been applied by a big corporation like Sony. From the governments'
perspectives, it should have tasked its agencies like the NSA with the job of protecting
American data and ensure that all organizations operating in the US soil meet some set
standards making it impenetrable by hackers.
Question three.
Companies should make security an integral part of their system. They should employ
techniques and systems that make them invisible in cyberspace. Besides, they should educate
their employees to practice good security practices. They need to educate them on how to
