Introduction
Control involves monitoring of activity/activities to ascertain that everything is going
according to plan and to allow correction of any mistakes if they happen.
Purpose and Importance of control
The purpose of control is to ensure that the activities are carried out to completion in a
way to ensure meeting of the set organizational goals("The Importance of Ethical Marketing
Practices", 2015).
As for the Importance of control, it involves the incorporation of three main categories;
Planning- Planning is the first step and is an essential and relevant functioning of every
level of management. Controls in planning allow managers to establish whether the goals
are as per expectations and to make any necessary arrangements for future actions.
Empowering employees- it is only credulous for management to create a work
environment in which people are empowered as it ensures the stability of employees.
Controls in this aspect come in handy when they provide the managers with information
and feedback with regards to employee performance.
Protecting the workplace- Since most people who work in a specific workplace spend the
majority of their time there, it is only fair to ensure the workplace is protected. Controls
provide and enhance physical security aspects to assist in the minimization of workplace
disruptions.
Measuring Control
Control measuring seeks to highlight the aspects of “how” and “what.” In the “how”
point, consideration is on the sources of information. The origins of information consist of
personal observation, statistical reports, oral reports, and written reports. As for the “what”
