CHLAMDIA. 2
Sexually transmitted infections are the kind of diseases passed from the infected partner to a
healthy individual through unprotected sex. Different forms can attract the transmission of these
infections that include oral, vaginal, and even anal sex. Some of the sexually transmitted diseases
do not necessarily need that intercourse but can equally pass through the skin to skin contacts.
Gonorrhea, syphilis, genital herpes, Chlamydia, among many other dangerous diseases, are some
of the common sexually transmitted infections (Giffard et al., 2017). All these infections have
great effects on the regular life system of humans, as some are associated with adverse conditions.
They also have a variety of signs and symptoms according to the disease category itself.
Prevention techniques always work as the best remedy just to ensure one is entirely free from
getting infected with the infections. Having regular infection check-ups, limiting sexual partners,
and practicing safe sex are some of the prevention strategies that can be used to prevent sexually
transmitted diseases.
Pathophysiology of Chlamydia
One of the most potent sexually transmitted infections is Chlamydia. Pathophysiology generally
focuses on the occurrence of a disease in the human body. Bacteria organism of Chlamydia often
hijacks the cells of our bodies that finally result in their multiplication to cause infections. In most
cases, the microorganisms are not able to carry their nutrients; thus, they rely on the nutrients that
are provided by the hosts. It, therefore, means that for its survival and reproduction, it has to depend
on the cells of the hosts entirely (Webley et al., 2017). Foremost, the chlamydia infection looks at
the way of penetrating in though the cells. This is often made possible because of white blood cell
similarity to most of the cells in the body system. The nucleus of the white blood cells often
possesses the genetic information of the cell on how it should survive as well as how the proteins
are stored.
