The idea of set point is that when a person’s fat deposits are below the set point
of the body that a person becomes hungry and eats which raises the levels of body
fat back to the body’s set point. When the level of body fat is higher it results in the
person eating less. It suggests that by maintaining a consistent body weight is to eat
when you are hungry because that hunger defends the set points.
The idea of settling points that the body fluctuates around a natural settling
point in which the levels of various factors in which influence body weight and
achieve an equilibrium. The body fat levels will increase which will result in the
limitation of increases of body fat until the balance is restored between all of the
factors in which influence weight gain and all that discourage it.
I believe in the set point method because I believe that eat person’s body is
predetermined to consume a certain amount of food. When those levels are
achieved it gives the sensation of being satisfied and helps to keep a natural
balance within the body and helps to maintain a certain weight. I believe that when
a person exceeds that limit that is when extra body fat is gained. I suspect that
when a person becomes overweight that your body naturally issues another set
point level which allows a person to pack on the pounds due to constantly
exceeding that level.
