Link between Religion and Terrorism
Terrorism and religion have had a dependent association since before the bible and the
church. Religious terrorism can be the actions that terrify and the party that commits violence
and it can also be accompanied by organization, religious motivation and world view. Religion is
mostly used when it is combined with other concepts and occasionally as the primary motivation.
Religious terrorism can be connected to recent forces of geopolitics. Primary symbolic actions
such as blood sacrifice connects the violence of terrorism and religion. The religious and
political motivations have organized and planned the suicide terrorism and self sacrifice. Suicide
terrorism is usually efficient, organized and mostly difficult to counter in conveying high
damage for the small cost. The terrifying nature of the violence attack attracts the attention of the
public. Exalting the martyrdom culture is an advantage to the organization of the terrorist and it
motivates more people to join it. This article approaches religious terrorism as threat of violence
inspired by religion.
Recent terrorism, normally considered to have started in the early 1800. For instance, the
Hindu Thuggees, Sicari and Hashashin in the middle East are examples of the ancient political
violence by groups that are religious. The initial campaings of terrorist were inspired by the
anarchism. The prosperous campaigns in the early century involved the leftist and nationalist
ideologies. However, it changed in the 1970 and the political islam became the prevailing force
in the middle East drawing the attention of start support (Tellidis, 2016).. Furthermore, attacks of
religious terrorists increased. Some of the groups involved in commiting the attacks were
inspired by the religious ideologies while others were infused by the national struggles. This
trend continued upto 1990 when there was rise in the islamist groups and the rise of Al-Qaeda.
The religious actors became common in the countries which are non-muslim .
