Kenya and Uganda
In this paper, I will be focusing on comprehensive details between Kenya and Uganda.
The reason why I chose these two countries is that they are within the same geographical
location. Both countries were colonized and gained independence almost at the same time.
Therefore, one would expect that there would be no big difference between them. The two
countries are within the East Africa region. The proximity between the two countries makes
them have almost equal chances for development. What may stand different and unique among
the two countries is governance. The governance of the two countries varies concerning how
power is used to utilize and share resources. I choose the two countries because they are within
almost similar setup where one country is doing better economically than the other. There are
numerous citable lists of similarities that would have put the two countries at the same starting
point. They represent the East Africa.
Geography
The two countries are within the same equatorial region. This puts the two countries in a
similar climatic region. It is for this basic reason that the two countries have been depending
heavily on irrigation. Though Uganda seems to be in a better position in terms of irrigation than
its counterpart, Kenya has also the advantage of the savannah grassland region that creates a
breeding ground for wild animals (Edwards,1940). Kenya is enjoying a higher influx of tourists.
This makes the two countries even in terms of economical potentiality. With the similarity of the
geography and economy, the performance of the two east African countries differs significantly.
Though Kenya is larger than Uganda in terms of land size, it is marginal. What makes the
difference negligible is the fact that the land in use in the two countries is almost equal. With this
