Introduction
Healthy people 2020 gives health planners with comprehensive national objectives and
goals for improving the wellbeing of Americans. Leading health indicators in the healthy people
2020 provide issues that are of a high priority to healthcare planners as well as the actions that
can be done to remedy them. The indicators assess the nation's health, bring collaboration in all
sectors, and motivate intervention at various levels in the society to improve the country's
general health. For the healthy people initiative to succeed in its mandate, it has to analyze and
identify conditions in the society, understand their effects on the society, and then plan for
actions to contain them. In this paper, we shall analyze the Healthy People Initiative program in
Miami Dade in Florida State to understand the county's health issues and how they affect people
and actions to contain them.
Miami Dade demographics
The Miami Dade County with zip code 305 ranks as the seventh-largest county in the
United States and the most developed metropolitan area in Florida, with amost12.3% of the
state's total population. The 2017 American community survey indicated that the county had at
least 2,702,602 residents. Racially it is amongst the places where the minority are the majority
because approximately 67.5% of its population is Hispanic decent, 16.3% are black, 13.7 are
white, 1.5 % are Asian, and 0.1% are American Indian. The county population is mostly made up
of young people who account for 84.7% of the total population, which means the mean resident
age is standing at 39.5 years. Out of this population, 48.5 are male, while 51.5% are female. The
diversity and age traits are typical of the future population of the United States. The residents in
this county continue to face a lot of health and socioeconomic variation, which affects them
