When considering how mining affects the atmosphere, it is inherent to understand the
process of mining. During mining, many rocks are moved from their habitat and mostly
crushed. This process increases the amount of dust in the atmosphere, therefore, creating an
atmosphere that can make human beings vulnerable. To add on, the mine tailings can have
toxic waste, which can become airborne and create health hazards for human beings for over
three generations. When the atmosphere is polluted, the health of all sentient life is
threatened. In essence, mining is threat to all sentient life because of its effects on the
atmosphere
