Research topic: Gaps in sexual assault Health care among homeless young adults
1. Background/Introduction
The rate of young adults experiencing homelessness is rapidly increasing, posing a high risk for
sexual harassment. In this case, launching a post-sexual assault assessment is critical in
preventing HIV and unwanted pregnancy. However, the use of this post-sexual assault
assessment is not well recognized. In a populace where there are high risks for sexual violence,
HIV, and unintended pregnancy, identifying obstacles and facilitators to the utilization of post-
sexual assault assessment is significant.
2. Problem to be addressed
The study examines the dominance and correlates of sexual harassment with the use of a post-
sexual assault examination. The study involved a significant sample drawn from youths
experiencing homelessness from seven cities across the United States.
3. Analysis of Components of Problem/Issues
I. Methods
The research used a cross-sectional survey that was administered between June 2016 and July
2017. Data was gathered by the use of a self-administered survey, which was completed on a
tablet.
