Motivating Team Lead
Inspire Your Team
An opti-realistic is a leader who firmly believes in finding solutions to every problem
and situation. This opti-realistic leader has such a high conviction that there is no doubt to a
solution and is willing to prove to the team just how it could be done. One example is using the
Jonas Salking approach. Assuring the group that the problem does and will work together to find
a solution. For instance, Joseph is a team leader with a company that sells ice cream. Business is
almost overwhelming in the summer months, but sales drop dramatically in the fall and winter.
The problem is to find a solution in which the company would improve sales during those slow
months. Joseph would use a strategy of creating the feeling that there is a solution and will find
it. One strategy example Joseph would use is meeting with his team and reminding them of the
previous winter months. He also states that the sales were so time-consuming that the business

suggested that idea and it profited the industry. Using a change of scenery other than the
business office and being reminded of how the ice cream truck helped the company is a strategy

hopeful words to his team. Afterwards, the team is inspired to continue their work by being
optimistic about a solution. In addition, the opti-realistic leader would also use the sweet
surrendering leadership approach. This leadership approach occurs when leader motivates their
