Leadership in Nursing
Leadership is an essential aspect of administration. Without leadership, there will be no
sense of direction. Hence leaders should have specific strengths to help sail people achieve a
particular goal (Choi et al., 2018). The nursing world is a diverse sector dealing with many
activities, consequently effective leadership. This paper will explore different leadership
strengths and qualities that match these leadership strengths.
The most vital leadership strengths include integrity and vision. Integrity is being honest;
doing the right thing always even when you are not under supervision. The nursing world is
characterized by many opportunities to practice vices such as corruption, theft and dishonesty
hence the need for integrity. Vision incorporates direction, wisdom and a plan of action. As a
nursing leader, one should set the picture for others and foster them to achieve the vision (Choi et
al., 2018).
Ever since I was a young person, I have wanted to revolutionize the nursing world hence
my thirst to pursue nursing. Nurses are vital people in society, be it in hospitals or out. Accidents
are unavoidable, and the presence of a nurse ensure proper care is administered. I have been
raised in a Christian home; hence integrity has been the core foundation of my upbringing. These
strengths equip me to be a future leader in the nursing world.
Humans are not perfect hence the need to improve daily. Delegation and confidence have
always been a problem for me. Holding a speech or delegating work to someone else has not
always been an easy thing. But to foster progress, I always boost my confidence by celebrating
small achievements, talking to myself and focusing on the good side. I have also learnt to
develop trust towards others and think them of being achievers (Cassiani et al., 2019).
