Database Systems Practical Connection
Using the database systems management concept of data security and management learned
in this course, I will be able to develop several ways of protecting data in my future career as an
IT manager. Most organizations engage in large amounts of data transactions or transfers. This
data is most vulnerable when not protected well and can fall into individuals with malicious
intentions. As a future IT manager, this concept of data security learned in database systems
management will enable me to identify vulnerability points and come up with strategies that will
assist in eliminating these systems' vulnerabilities for safe data transfer.
Additionally, As a future IT manager, I will use the concept of database transactions and
other database facilities to help my organization back up its data and recover it. Backing up data
is very important because of the uncertainties that surround organizations. For an instant, hackers
can gain access to an organization's system and delete all its available data or, in cases of natural
calamities, that might destroy data. The data backed up can quickly be recovered and facilitate the
organization's continuity. Failing to back up data puts any organization at risk of becoming extinct
if all its data is lost. Also, this concept will equip me with the different ways one can back up and
recover data so that when one technique proves to be unreliable, I can always have other options
(O'Grady, 2021). For instance, the concept has enlightened me of different ways of backing up
data, which include; using hard drives, printouts, subscribing to a backup service, or opting to use
cloud storage to back up data, which is the best since it enables one to access data from anywhere
if the person is a stable connection and required credentials.
Studying the principles of database and their management, will enable me to understand
how information can be stored and accessed. Database stores crucial information about the
company, such as its employees’ records, salary details, and transactional records (Beynon-Davies,
